This is a decision which will be unanimously welcomed by all high school students. It cannot get easier than this, for them.. :)

On a serious note.. This is a bold decision and a way to make education more practical than theoretical and bookish. This is one step which might help student to think, imagine, innovate without the burden of performing in exam. This can be taken as one small step that will help in developing a thought process in young minds that will be original and not what books or teachers want them to think, which I feel is the true essence of education. It will become easier for students to realize their true potentials and inclination.

But I feel only taking this step will be a waste if we dont have teachers who understand what real education is, teachers who dont consider marks as a parameter to judge a child's mental accumen. We must have higher education system supporting this, a higher education with varied courses and research programs.

I also feel this kind of education is more useful in a developed country where there is no tension of how students will earn their bread and butter once they are done with studying. The motivation for education should not be getting job but knowledge, which is very difficult in our country. Our choice of course we study depends on the job oportunity ahead and not what we are interested in. I feel this might not be a wise decision considering the competition students are eventually going to face for the limited resources and jobs. They wont be prepared for this burden of sudden and tough competition.
