It’s an old adage that we hear before we knew the hidden meaning in these words. When we are young all we know is that people do work to earn money to sustain a better living while worship is one that people go into shrines to pay their respect to Thy Almighty. They were thought, understood and considered as two separate realms.

But with time, we all need to realize that it is interconnected through deepest understanding and belief in a super power. For some that power can be in the form of light, for others it can be a piece of stone while for many it can be different idols. Whatever be it, we surrender to attain the divine bliss of this supreme power.

How do we do that? Its here that I feel the adage hold its true meaning. It’s through our daily work that we get connected to the supreme. Since the day dawns, do not let it go away whiling your time into thoughts, instead engage yourself into activity that will help not only in earning money to sustain yourself but will also provide some mental fodder.

Each activity must be done with sincerity, honesty and integrity. From putting the clothes in the drier, meeting your important clients to taking your child to the park; inculcate the habit of working the moment with love and care. In no time you will realize that being actively engaged in every moment will help you sleep well at night so that the next day dawns with renewed zest and vigor. You do not need to pop up pills to de-stress yourself, instead nurture the habit of few minutes of meditation that will help to detoxify your mind and cleanse your system for a more productive day.

Wherever you are, that place is the holy shrine, with whomever you exchange greetings, words or work in unison is the creations of The Supreme Power. So, never disrespect them or belittle their thoughts, instead pass a smile to win a heart.

It is through sincere work that you sing the song of praise for your inner self. It is through this connection that you can lead a meaningful life for in it you will find the essence of soul.

Let the new vision of life be to connect to your inner being through Work!!!

India’s dream Unique Identity Card project will soon have big names from the world of technology besides Nandan Nilekani who is spearheading the project. In a recent visit to India, Bill Gates, the founder-chairman of Microsoft who is not only the richest person in the world but a great philanthropist as well, expressed his desire that Microsoft would like to play a constructive role in the UIC project.

His Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are on a revolutionary path to make a difference in the healthcare system in the developing countries. Just the way he addressed the challenging issues in the technology-business domain where in he steered his company Microsoft from the scratch in 1975 to a whopping $60billion organization, similarly he felt that there is urgency in healthcare system in the developing countries as children are dying. To save the Gift of God-a child and to provide them with equal opportunity and a level playing field, his thoughts and actions are in sync to bring about a change for the better.

He feels that as technology is important, great governance is a necessary condition too for bringing about any kind of change. He is of the opinion that Unique Identity Card for citizens had been successful in Denmark, Singapore and other Scandinavian countries, so if designed with futuristic applications, it is going to be successful. The objective should be clear as what are we focusing on. That is, we should be aware the kind of data that we are looking forward to get from UIC and how this information can be used.

The 53 year old man, Bill Gates who is filled with energy and enthusiasm is of the notion that people will not hoard vaccines and hence there will not be much difficulty in tracking the amount of money being spent on the project. According to him, health can be quantified and is measurable. He also expressed his dissatisfaction on the stringent measures of US H1B visa laws and green card formalities. He feels that restricting immigrants is not a solution for recession and erecting barriers cannot help recovery. He believes that the greatest challenge is to make internet viable and accessible to all through low cost PCs, community kiosks, computers in schools, WiMax, low cost cell phones and wireless connectivity, besides thrust in advancement of internet plumbing.

From his fortune, this great man has already given $27 billion to help world become a better place to live in through innovation and vaccination. He wishes that there be alternative low-cost new source of energy with minimum environmental degradation.

Yet to take over officially, but Nandan Nilekani cannot sit quiet and hence he began with his new job by meeting with oil minister Murli Deora and minister of state Jitin Prasad. The reason is that the database for cooking gas is huge and he can begin the mammoth task of creating unique citizen-Id cards by taking the first step in this direction.

What Nilekani expressed to do?
The Infosys co-founder decided to run a pilot project in the cities of Hyderabad, Pune and Bangalore where he will instruct to issue smart cards to kerosene and cooking gas consumers. Murli Deora is also impressed with the idea as he feels that in this way the government can keep a track on who receives the kerosene and cooking gas sole.

Presently 11 crore consumers is served by 9350 cooking gas dealers. This huge database will lay the foundation for the standardization and synchronization of data.

Before the clock starts ticking, UIC project has already made bold start.
